iOS 5 Jailbreak Tethered Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 Released Phone, iPod Touch, And iPad

Author: admin  //  Category: Hacking

Download Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 for Mac www.megaupload.com geohot. www.geohot.ca Twitter: @splakcito Facebook : splakcito salazar THIS JAILBREAK IS INTENDED ONLY FOR DEVELOPERS OF JAILBROKEN APPS! There are just too many broken components (Apple’s official apps, 3rd-party App Store apps, Cydia apps, MobileSubstrate apps, etc) for this to be useful to anyone but those truly looking to fix bugs in their iOS 5 jailbroken apps. (Seriously!) THIS REDSN0W WILL NOT HACTIVATE 5.0b1! You need to be an iOS developer with a registered UDID to get past all the new activation screens. PLEASE DON’T PIRATE APPLE SOFTWARE! Only registered devs with Macs can develop iOS applications, and only those people will have legitimate access to the beta IPSWs. THIS IS A TETHERED JAILBREAK ONLY! No new exploits are being exposed with this jailbreak (it uses geohot’s limera1n bootrom exploit), but that comes at a cost. You will need to use redsn0w to “Just boot tethered now” to be able to use many things, including Cydia and Safari. If you see a white icon for Cydia, or if Cydia or Safari crash when you open them, it’s because you didn’t boot tethered. The way redsn0w works, you will very likely be able to use this on upcoming iOS5 betas, just by continuing to point redsn0w at the 5.0b1 IPSW. So keep that IPSW handy!

iPhone Hacked to Work With Any Phone Service – VOA Story

Author: admin  //  Category: Hacking

The very popular iPhone must be used with the not so popular cellular network AT&T. People using other networks must break their contracts to switch to AT&T. That can cost up to $250. But a teenager has modified the computer code in an iPhone, freeing it from its corporate master and letting it work with other carriers. Apple advertisements read: “There’s never been an iPod that can do this. No there certainly has not. The iPhone, the most hyped mobile phone ever, has been hacked by this guy: 17-year-old-George Hotz, making the phone potentially usable on networks all over the world. “It’s very technical, and it requires opening up your phone, soldering a wire, the two points, and then running some software that I wrote, putting your iPhone back together. Inserting any sim card that you want, and then just using it.” It can cost over $200 to get out of a contract with a cell phone company and switch to another. So people pining for an iPhone but stuck with, say, a T-Mobile contract, are out of luck unless they pay the penalty fee. In this case, Hotz placed a T-Mobile SIM card, a small chip that identifies a phone to a network, in an iPhone. Voila…This was a high tech feat using some low-tech tools. The trick to opening the iPhone case — there’s an official Apple case opener tool — guitar picks. “Some guy told me,” explained Hotz, “that when we first started, when I first got the iPhone, ‘Hey dude, to open it up, just slide a guitar pick right in there.’ Sure enough
